JOHN BOULTBEE (British, 1753-1812) “MY HUNTING DOGS”. Oil on canvas scene shows a black setter type dog next to a white black spotted dog as they come over a small hillside crest and look left. This is against a hillside background under a blue sky with white clouds. Signed twice, once lower left “J. Boultbee”. Other in center. Housed in a shell decorated gesso gold frame. A label on back of the frame indicates artist and title. Other identification numbers are seen on frame and stretcher. SIZE: 25” x 30”. CONDITION: Relined, restoration with inpainting. 5-71782 (5,000-10,000)
