SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 ARGENTINE MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, 2-line address, pinned half moon steel front sight, recently British proofed, marked on the frame in front of the trigger guard “EJERCITO/ARGENTINO”. This is apparently one of the 2,000 revolvers sold to Argentina through Schuyler, Hartley & Graham and, recently, imported into England. Smooth 2-pc walnut grips numbered to this revolver and has a lanyard stud through the serial number on the bottom, however, the serial number has been stamped on right side of the grip frame in the same tiny numbers as is on the cylinder. SN 2006. CONDITION: Good, all matching including the grips. Traces of original finish remain in the most sheltered areas with the balance being a medium gray patina with light surface pitting. Grips are fine showing moderate wear. Bright shiny bore with one or two tiny pits. Fine mechanics. 4-47962 JR62 (Anderson Collection) (1,250-1,750)
