SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 TURKISH CONTRACT REVOLVER. Cal. 44RF. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, 2-line address, 2-pc diamond checkered walnut grips with a lanyard loop in the butt and Russian model style finger rest trigger guard. This revolver is listed as part of the 58 revolvers of a contract overrun sold to Wexel & DeGress on December 31, 1879, who exported them to Mexico. SN 5026. CONDITION: Very good to excellent as refinished. Retains about all of its fine restored blue. Hammer and trigger guard retains 25-35% case colors with the balance turned gray. The unnumbered grips are near excellent and fit fine. Strong bore with moderate pitting, mechanics are fine. 4-47957 JR55 (Anderson Collection) (1,250-2,250)
