DRAMATIC LARGE M. GOTTSCHALK DOLL HOUSE. Of German manufacture, from the early part of the 20th century, this large impressive commercially made doll house is basically in untouched original condition with some repairs/replacement parts. Most elaborate in that the front section opens in two pieces exposing a multitude of rooms within (six rooms plus a closet). At the rear of the house a trap door gains access to the attic/servant’s quarters. Retaining its original wallpaper and flooring, however the back panel wall has been replaced some time ago. The exterior of the house retains a large percentage of its original finish and only a small amount of trim being replaced. These trims should be professionally painted to match the rest of the house. At some point in time small porcelain electrical sockets have been installed so the house could be lit. One of the most appealing aspects of this mansion are the three series of porches with pillars, banisters, and the second floor with spectacular crested arches. By comparison, for a red roof, this example is elephantine in size. SIZE: 31″ wide x 37″ high x 20″ deep. CONDITION: House appears to have had front wooden steps at one point in time that are missing. Largely intact, just needing some attention to trims and back panel. 1-7744 (4,000-6,000)
