SENSATIONAL FRAMED HAND TINTED PHOTOGRAPH OF THE SAMOSET RESORT. A panoramic view shows the Samoset Resort on a grassy bluff overlooking Rockland Harbor. Rockland Breakwater is seen with strollers and outside of the harbor is the famed White Fleet at anchor. Many other boats are seen on both sides of the Breakwater. The picture is housed in a gilt molded oak frame with original double matte having an oval window. The outside matte is titled “The Samoset From Lighthouse, Rockland Breakwater, Rockland, Maine”. Also labels on the matte “Rockland Harbor” and “Penobscot Bay”. Written in the corner “Ricker Hotel Co.” who was the owner of the Samoset. It is possible that at one time that this adorned a hall of the Samoset or corporate office. SIGHT SIZE: 8” x 47”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-71315 (2,000-3,000)
