*RARE REMINGTON MODEL 8-F ENGRAVED SEMI-AUTO RIFLE. Cal. 35 Remington. SN 30222. This spectacular rifle has a 22” bbl with ivory bead; pedestal front sight, no provision for a rear sight and a locking Lyman windage tang sight. It is fitted with beautifully grained walnut wood having a full-checkered schnable tip forearm and capped pistol grip stock with curved Remington-UMC hard rubber buttplate. The forearm has a large diamond panel around the sling swivel in the center and has finer checkering inside the panel than outside. The receiver has full coverage beautiful quality engraving which has similarities consistent with engraving by John Ulrich. It consists of a large oval vignette of a running white tail buck & doe in a woodland scene on the left side. The right side has a similar sized vignette of a grizzly bear chasing a Bighorn ram in a mountain scene. The top rear of the receiver has a very detailed large white tail buck lying in a field of grass with a tree in the background. The balance of the receiver is covered with intricately intertwined foliate arabesque patterns and wave like borders. The bottom edges of the receiver have a flowing leaf and vine pattern. The top of the bbl is engraved about 4” over the chamber in delicate foliate arabesque and geometric patterns and the bbl address is enclosed in an engraved panel. The top tang and rear of the receiver are fully engraved, as is the bottom of the magazine box and trigger guard. The lower tang also has engraved panels and the serial number is hand engraved with the letter “F” stamped above it. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, retaining virtually its entire bright factory blue on the metal and fine oil finish on the wood. Checkering on the forearm has one small bruise and the butt stock a few scattered light storage and handling marks. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-52683 JR361 (5,000-8,000)
