GOOD SET OF FOUR EARLY NEW ENGLAND BIRDCAGE WINDSOR SIDE CHAIRS. Excellent bamboo turnings, seven spindle back with box stretcher. Three are in original brown paint surface, one with black paint. The bottom of the black chair has a note “This chair belonged to Sarah Silsby Reed Born 1774 Died 1860” and signed “Paul Whipple, Arlington, Mass 1919”. Attributed to the workshop of Tuttle, Salem, Massachusetts. Early 19th C. SIZE: 33-1/2” h x 17-1/4” seat h. CONDITION: Some paint loss, generally very good. 9-70624 (1,200-1,600)
