VERY RARE MCCORMICK MODEL 1795 FLINT LOCK MUSKET WITH BAYONET. Cal. .70, 42-3/4” bbl. Marked “McCORMICK / GLOBE / MILL” at the rear of the lockplate and “U.S.” in front of the hammer. Ramrod, frizzen spring, main spring, trigger, and screw are replacements. The tumbler and sear have been repaired. The rear swing swivel is missing. The lock cavity has been enlarged to accommodate the new main spring. The balance of the parts appear to be original and not reconverted. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina overall. Stock has several cracks in the lock area including a large chip loss below the plate. The bayonet lug has been reset 1-3/8” to the rear of its original placement, which is still visible at the muzzle. The bayonet has a 15-3/8” triangular blade and fits the bbl very well. 4-47812 FS120 (1,000-2,000)
