US MODEL 1808 FLINTLOCK MUSKET W/ BAYONET. NSN. Cal. 72. 44-1/2” round bbl with unmarked period bayonet does not fit well, 1873 scabbard and ramrod. No markings on the lock or buttplate. “P” over eagle head are stamped heavily on the upper left side of the breech of the bbl. A “V” is faintly visible below them. The lock appears to be original flintlock. There is an obstruction in the chamber, possibly loaded. Sling swivels are missing. The top jaw and screw are replacements. CONDITION: Gray-brown patina with areas of scaly rust. The front two bbl band retainers are broken. The lock is good. X23 4-47811 (1,000-2,000)
