COLLECTION OF WORCESTER, BOW AND CAUGHLEY TABLEWARES. 3rd quarter 18th century. Including: 1) Worcester 13-1/2″ oval platter with scalloped molded edge and cobalt gilt-decorated border centering radiating floral tendrils and sprigs, painted open crescent mark in underglaze blue, old crack and repaired break running diagonally one o’clock to eight o’clock, with some wear to gilded and painted surfaces. 2) Worcester porcelain blue and white ‘Natural Sprays Group’ pattern 4″ baluster milk jug and 5-1/4″ vase, transfer-printed in underglaze blue with floral sprays and butterflies, hatched crescent mark in underglaze blue; vase with base rim chip and repair, milk jug very good overall with no defects noted. 3) Caughley porcelain blue and white 4-3/4″ dia. saucer together with unmarked 3″ dia. tea bowl, printed in underglaze blue with floral sprays, the saucer with printed “S” mark in underglaze blue; very good overall, no restorations noted. 4) Bow porcelain blue and white and gilt-decorated 2-3/8″ cup and 4-1/2″ dia. saucer with blue floral sprigs, gold-gilt heightened and with iron red and green painted dots, marked with “T” in underglaze blue (probably Thomas Frye); with expected wear to gilding, otherwise very good.
