ATTRIBUTED TO MARGARET TAYLOR GOSS BURROUGHS (American, 1917-) “FROM THE LAND”. Oil on canvas scene shows a black couple with child. Beside them is what appears to be a cotton bloom and tobacco stock. Behind which is a house which is a small cabin with porch. Unsigned but titled and pencil signed on stretcher. Burroughs was the founder of the Museum of Negro History. SIZE: 30” x 26”. CONDITION: There are two scrapes and some tiny paint flecks missing. Good. 9-26509 (1,500-2,000)
