RARE KENTUCKY FLINTLOCK PISTOL. Cal. 41. Smoothbore, 8″ oct. bbl., 14″ overall, full stock with applied tiger striping, brass mounts including four end cap, two ramrod pipes, plain trigger guard with faceted bow, and unusual full sideplate with two piercings, the foreend with two pointed silver escutcheons for the brass barrel keys, silver butt cap, an oval wrist escutcheon, unusual brass trigger. The lightly engraved flat beveled lock plate with water-proof pan and roller frizzen spring signed “C. E. Hardy & Co.”. CONDITION: Generally very fine condition. The hammer appears to be a good restoration, the lock screws are questionable, there is a small chip of brass missing from the front foreend cap, the ramrod is missing and the lock spring present but not working, otherwise complete and original, a very fine example with crisp barrel and lock with very light age brown patina, the stock and mounts with a pleasing aged patina.
