OUTSTANDING CAST IRON FIGURAL SAILOR UMBRELLA STAND. The unusual umbrella stand depicts a sailor on crows nest holding rigging which forms the top holder. The plinth having an anchor, blubber spade, bales and barrels. A detachable drip pan is present and the bottom having small feet, the front adorned with a head mask. REFERENCE: For identical motif set of andirons see lot #2165, Julia’s August 2008 auction. SIZE: 27-1/4″ h x 17-1/2″ at widest. CONDITION: Very good, with a professional repair to crack in one leg which is hard to see. 9-95093 (1,000-2,000)
