LARGE KESTNER CHARACTER CHILD DOLL. Lovely Kestner incised “L 1/2 Made in Germany 15 1/2 J.D.K. 241” with brown glass sleep eyes, painted upper and lower lashes as well as having the original silk upper lashes. Open smiling mouth with four protruding upper teeth, on original pink character body stamped in red “Germany 6”. This desirable doll is sometimes known as “Hilda’s older sister” wears her original dark blond mohair wig over plaster pate and has been skillfully re-costumed in a 1910 style iridescent maroon and chartreuse dress with gathered waist.
