VERY RARE CUTAWAY COLT LIGHTNING LARGE FRAME RIFLE. Cal. 40-60-260. SN 39. Rare and unusual Colt item with 10” smoothbore oct bbl, 2-pc checkered forearm and stub of walnut in the tangs. It has blued finish with the receiver being a full cutaway exposing the inner workings. It is made without a safety. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains about 80% original blue with flaking on the bbl and areas of light surface rust on the receiver. Wood is nicked and scratched but sound.
