COLT BURGESS SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 6231. Standard carbine with 20” bbl, full magazine, Baker front sight with Colt reverse mounted carbine ladder rear sight. It has a staple and ring and rampant Colt on the left side of the receiver. It has straight grain American walnut wood with straight stock and carbine buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 40-50% original blue finish turning plum with the balance a mottled blue brown patina. Magazine tube retains 75-80% blue with some light surface pitting. Receiver retains 60-70% thin original blue with the balance a light patina. Wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish, no breaks in the forearm over the loading gate. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with scattered light pitting. 4-52564 JR309 (5,000-8,000)
