VERY RARE DELUXE COLT BURGESS LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 3441. Rare rifle with 25-1/2” oct bbl, full magazine, Beach’s combination front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has beautifully figured marble cake French walnut buttstock, checkered forearm and straight grip with crescent buttplate with trap. Very few of these deluxe rifles are known. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Metal retains most of an old restored finish with some light surface pitting over the receiver, heavier on the right topside. Magazine tube is a thin blue gray patina. Wood is sound, showing moderate to heavy wear with good checkering and light to moderate nicks, dings and scratches and a series of small bruises on the comb. Retains generous amounts of original finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with a few scattered spots of light pitting. 4-52570 JR311 (7,500-12,500)
