ATTRIBUTED TO ROBERT STRONG WOODWARD (American, 1885-1957) NEW ENGLAND CHURCH. Oil on canvas church portrait believed to be a church located in Westhampton, Mass. The white colonial style church with large steeple rests on a small hillside with stone wall and summer landscape. Unsigned but having a typed note signed by his cousin Florence Wells Haeverle dated November 1957. Also a name tag “Mrs. Elna Strong” attached to stretcher. Housed in its original stained gray frame. PROVENANCE: Originally descended through the family. SIZE: 27” x 30”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-26146 (200-400)
