RARE PAIR OF SCOTTISH FLINTLOCK PISTOLS WITH KNIFE ATTACHMENTS. NSN. Cal. .54. 7-3/4” part oct bbl. Marked “P. McNAB” on both lockplates and “RA” on silver plaques on the right side of each grip. Simple line engraving surrounds the silver plaques. The barrels do not have proof marks but have various numbers, letters and dots, which are also found on various other pieces. A 3-1/4” single-edge blade with handle made in one piece is mounted on the right side of each pistol. The L-shaped mount at the front right side of each stock is properly brazed on the side of the forearm. The spring latch only holds the blade positively in the open position. Friction holds it in the closed position. CONDITION: Gray-brown patina overall with light to moderate pitting. Action is fine. The silver plaques are somewhat dented and one is missing almost all of the edging, the others portions from 1/3 to 3/4. FS32 8-87143 (4,000-8,000)
