FINE CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY DROP LEAF DINING TABLE, BOSTON OR NORTH SHORE. Second half of the 18th Century. This good example with rectangular top fitted with hinged leaves and canted corners, all with molded edges, projecting above the scalloped apron, raised on slender cabriole legs with shaped returns, two with swing legs and terminating in strongly carved ball and claw feet. SIZE: 28″ h x 53-3/4″ l x 17-1/4″ w (closed); 47″ w (open). CONDITION: Nice original cleaned surfaces with rich color and good patina. Old repairs to both legs at one end below apron. 9-95269 (3,000-5,000)
