WARNER REVOLVING RIFLE. CAL. 40. SN: 229. 29-1/2” octagonal bbl. Marked “JAMES WARNER, SPRINGFIELD, MASS” on top of the frame. The cylinder is hand turned with the lock inside the triggerguard. There was probably either etching or marking on the cylinder but the later nickel plating has defaced it. The loading plunger is loose, as the bottom of the frame has been removed. The loading lever is retained by the cleaning rod. CONDITION: About 80% of the old nickel-plate remains with two spots of heavy pitting on the cylinder where the nickel has flaked. Loading lever is cracked. Stock has minor dents and scratches. Ramrod extension is in a compartment under the buttplate. 4-52700 X4 (3,000-5,000)
