CASED PAIR OF SMITH FLINTLOCK PISTOLS. Cal. 40. 5-1/2 octagonal barrels with gold bands and platinum plugs. Cased in an oak box with cleaning rod, bullet mold and powder flask. The inside of the lid carries the label of William Smith of London. Each pistol has a silver colored butt cap of a lion’s head. CONDITION: Good damascus pattern remains on the barrels but no casehardening colors remain on the tangs or locks. The bores are fine. The finely checkered stocks have normal dents and scratches, quite heavy on the left side of one. The case has been chipped, repaired and refinished but is generally sound. The lock does not work. The spring of the three compartment flask is broken. 4-48714 (6,000-7,000)
