SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 TURKISH CONTRACT REVOLVER. Cal. 44RF. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, 2-line address, pinned half moon steel front sight and 2-pc diamond checkered walnut grips with inspector mark “A.F.C.” on the upper left side. There is a small “P” inspector mark inside the frame below the cylinder and on the back of the cylinder and a small “U” opposite the serial number in the bbl latch cuts. There is a lanyard loop in the butt. SN 4534. CONDITION: Good. All matching including the grips. Retains 40-50% original blue with the sideplate and bbl mostly white. Cylinder has dull blue in the flutes, gray elsewhere. Hammer retains 75-80% case colors. Trigger guard 15-20% case colors with the balance silver. Grips show heavy wear but are sound. Hammer nose locking notch is slightly chipped. Strong bore with good shine and moderate pitting, fine mechanics. 4-48001 JR86 (Anderson Collection) (2,000-3,500)
