BLACK HAWK FULL-BODIED MOLDED COPPER WEATHERVANE. Last quarter 19th century. Possibly Cushing & White, this full-bodied copper example of Black Hawk, a famous 19th century Morgan trotter; retaining original gilding beneath later mustard paint, having cast ears and mounted on a rod. Sold with original pole, wrought iron directionals and copper ball spacer. SIZE: Weathervane: 20-1/2″ h. x 26″ l. Including stand: 72″ overall h. PROVENANCE: Removed from a barn in Salem, Massachusetts. CONDITION: With good weathered surfaces and with seam splitting along back and front, damage to head and ears. 9-95199 (2,500-4,000)
