EDWARD LOYAL FIELD (American, NY, 1856-1914) COUNTRY COTTAGE AND FARM. Oil on panel depicts small cottage and farm in a rural setting. Probably a Catskills or a Hudson River Valley scene. Signed on reverse, “Edward L. Fields, 1888”. Ex the Estate of E. L. Field, (Tovar collection number 26). Field studied in France under Carolus-Duran. After returning to the U.S., he became a full member of New York’s prestigious Salmagundi Club. SIZE: 4-3/4” h x 6-1/2”. CONDITION: Sky above the landscape painted only with the sun; no other in-painting. Otherwise, painting not finished in the sky. 9-27986 (1000-1500)
