SMITH & WESSON NASHVILLE POLICE #3 AMERICAN 1ST MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 44 American. Blued finish, 6” keyhole ribbed bbl, usual markings, smooth 2-pc walnut grips, engraved down the backstrap “NASHVILLE POLICE NO 3”. Inside the left grip is carved “D.M. WILLIAMS 1914” and in pencil inside the right grip “BILL MCLAIN” and something else illegible and “1919”. Engraved on the grip frame underneath the right grip are three scripted initials that are indecipherable. SN 3485. CONDITION: Very good, all matching including grips. Retains 25-30% original blue primarily in sheltered areas with the balance a plum brown patina. Extractor pawl catch appears to be a replacement and there appears to be a repair on the frame behind the slot, some of the screws are battered. Grips are fine.
