MARGARET MILLER COOPER (American, 1874-1965) “SAMARKAND GARDEN, SANTA BARBARA, CAL”. Oil on canvas scene shows white stucco building with double stairway leading to colorful garden. Two large blue urns with flowers flank a stork which perches on wall. Signed “M. Cooper”. Housed in a carved and white painted wood frame. Pencil title, signed on stretcher. Also signed on canvas and also containing a Lime Art Association label and a De-accessioned label from the New Britain Museum of American Art. A nice example of this Old Lyme School artist.
