*MERKEL DELUXE SINGLE BBL TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 15180. Spectacular trap gun with 32” full choke vent rib bbl, dbl ivory beads with dbl bbl extensions and Greener cross bolt. It has dbl scalloped boxlock receiver and nicely figured straight grain walnut wood with checkered schnable tip beaver tail forearm and checkered diamond shaped wrist, round knob butt stock, 14-3/4” over a checkered butt. It has heart shaped checkered side panels. The left side of the bbl is marked “A.F. STOEGER INC NEW YORK / sole American agents”. The left side of the rib over the chamber is marked “MADE IN GERMANY”. The right side of the bbl is marked “MERKEL BROTHERS”. The receiver is lightly engraved with straight-line borders and scattered light flourishes of arabesque patterns. CONDITION: Extremely fine, nearly new. Retains virtually all of its fine original factory finish to both metal and wood. Blue is deep and strong and the case colors on the receiver and forend iron brilliant. Wood has a few scattered, very minor handling and storage marks. Top tang has slightly faded. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-52665 JR363 (3,000-5,000)
