MATTEO LOVATTI (Italian, 1861) THE CHANCE MEETING. Large watercolor scene shows two young ladies in colorful formal dress with matching hat meeting a Monk in brown robe with large umbrella. They meet in a town square with large monument, building with broadsides and posters. Signed lower right “M Lovatti 1877”. Housed in its original frame liner which has an inner gilt pebble surface matte. SIGHT SIZE: 27” x 19”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-72723 (500-1,000)
