VERY RARE AND IMPORTANT HANDEL REVERSE PAINTED TABLE LAMP. The domical shade in “chipped, lightly sand finished glass”, having all over reverse painting of flowering hydrangea plants in large pink and white clusters on a light green background on a bronzed metal base of pear-shaped vasiform with two flying scroll handles and simple circular foot in an unusual acid finished patina. A most outstanding and rare lamp. PROVENANCE: Ex-Collection of Dr. Irving Paul, Bangor, ME & James D. Julia Auctions, Nov. 7, 1992. SIZE: Shade is 16″ dia. Overall height is 22″.
