WINCHESTER HIGH WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. SN 52926. Standard grade rifle with 30” #3 oct bbl, reproduction windage globe front sight, and a mid-range vernier tang sight. It has the original and a spare dovetail at the chamber end of the bbl. The wood is straight grain American walnut with black insert schnable tip forearm and straight stock with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl, as noted, retains about 90% strong original blue with light edge wear and a scrape and wear between the rear seats. Receiver retains 15-20% case colors with the balance turned silver. Stock has a couple of hairlines at the wrist, otherwise is sound with light handling and use marks and a series of chips in the varnish on the left side and retains most of an amateur refinish. Mechanics are fine, brilliant shiny bore. Would make an outstanding shooter. 4-52914 JR406 (3,000-5,000)
