WINCHESTER HIGH WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 32-40. SN 105492. Standard grade rifle with 26” #3 oct to rnd bbl, gold washed Beach’s combination front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. The receiver is fitted with close couple dbl set triggers. The wood is straight grain American walnut with black insert schnable tip and straight stock with crescent buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle, as is, and indicating shipment October 5, 1907 (The manufacture date was 1896). CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, as new. Retains virtually all of its brilliant factory finish to both metal and wood with a couple of minor fine scratches on the bbl and a few handling and storage marks on the wood. Lever and buttplate has strong case colors in sheltered areas with the balance faded and the front sight most of its gold wash. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bore. 4-52921 JR407 (4,000-7,500)
