NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE MAPLE TALL CHEST OF DRAWERS. Last quarter 18th century. The rectangular case with molded cornice fitted with a pair of aligned short drawers over five graduated long drawers, all with thumbmolded edges, on a molded base raised on tall bracket feet with shaped returns. SIZE: 46″ h. x 40″ case w. x 20-1/2″ overall d. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired from Robert Hall, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in the 1950/60’s by the present owner’s parents. CONDITION: Very good structural condition; with original backboards and feet, later hardware and finish, medium brown color and patina. 9-94929 (2,000-3,000)
