GEORGINA CAMPBELL (American, 1861-1931) MISS GLELAND. Oil on canvas oval portrait shows a half view of a woman in a white lace-edge dress. She is seen against a greenish backdrop and housed with what appears to be its original fancy, pierced, carved gilt frame with remnants of a New York framing label. Signed lower right, “G. Campbell, 1900”. Also inscribed on reverse, “G. Campbell for Miss Gleland, 23-8-73”. This artist painted portraits of prominent people in New York City. SIZE: 30” x 24-1/2”.
