WINCHESTER LOW WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). SN 80188. Fine little rifle in an unusual caliber with 28” #1 rnd bbl, uncheckered straight grain American walnut wood with black insert schnable tip forearm and straight stock with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 94-96% strong bright original blue with light muzzle wear. Receiver retains virtually all of its brilliant case colors, thinned and graying on the tangs. Lever retains dark case colors and the hammer and breechblock about all of their muted case colors. Stock has a grain check on the right side at the buttplate, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of its original factory varnish with light to moderate handling and use nicks and dings and a scrape on the toe.
