NEW ENGLAND SHERATON PAINT-DECORATED WASH STAND. Circa 1840. The scalloped and arched dovetailed three-quarter splashguard joined by a candle shelf centering the square top with cutouts for bowl, soap dish, and cup above the conforming frieze raised on ring-turned cylindrical supports joined to a medial shelf continuing to cylindrical legs. The whole in cream color with dark green accents and with a penciled signature in script reading, “Samuel Parsons, Columbia”. SIZE: 38″ overall h x 18-1/2″ w x 16″ d. CONDITION: Retains original painted dry surfaces, showing moderate overall wear; shrinkage split top right side facing; otherwise good. 9-92581 (700-900)
