RARE DELUXE WINCHESTER LOW WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 32 WCF (32-20). SN 30097. Rare little rifle with 28” #1 oct bbl, blue blade Rocky Mountain front sight with platinum line and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has very nicely figured checkered center crotch cut American walnut wood with black insert schnable tip forearm and black insert pistol grip stock with crescent buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle and indicating shipment on December 19, 1888. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 96-97% strong bright original blue with a few small nicks and scattered pinpoints of rust. Receiver retains virtually all of its original case colors, slightly muted. Lever retains most of its case hardening with traces of color and the breechblock and hammer retain most of their case colors. Buttplate retains virtually all of its original dark case colors. Wood is sound with a long scratch on the right side of the butt stock and a couple of bruises in the checkering with other small nicks and scratches and retains most of its original factory piano varnish finish.
