SMITH & WESSON ENGRAVED INSCRIBED 2ND MODEL MARTIALLY MARKED SCHOFIELD REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Schofield. Nickel finish, 7” keyhole ribbed bbl with markings on both sides of the bbl lug strap. Full coverage New York style engraving on both sides of the frame. Bbl and cylinder have 30-50% coverage engraving and it is fitted with 2-pc pearl grips. Right grip is carved with an old English style “AF” and the backstrap is period engraved “AUGUSTINE FUERTES”. Bottom of the butt is stamped “US” and various parts have inspector marks “P” and “W”. SN 8823. CONDITION: Good. Bbl and cylinder are mostly a gray color with traces of original finish in sheltered areas. Frame and grip frame retain about 50% nickel with the balance gray metal. Left grip is fine while the right grip has three repaired cracks. Fine mechanics and strong bore with scattered pitting. 4-47906 JR13 (Anderson Collection) (1,750-2,750)
