*WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 LEVER ACTION MUSKET. Cal. 7.62 Russian. SN 105664. Standard Russian musket with 28” rnd bbl, pedestal front sight and 3,200-yard musket ladder rear sight. The top of the bbl, just forward of the hand guard is stamped “4-22-40”. The receiver has stripper clip brackets and it is fitted with full-length forearm with grasping grooves and a short hand guard. The upper hand guard is split, Krag style with bayonet lug and stacking swivel. The middle band has a sling swivel with corresponding base and swivel in the buttstock. The buttstock is straight grain walnut with straight wrist and musket butt with trap. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Shows little use but some handling. Bbl retains 97-98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains 95-97% strong bright original blue with very fine sharp edge wear, a few scratches and some wear on the magazine box. Lever is flaked to about 40%. Hand guard has a hairline above the sight recess, otherwise the wood is sound and retains virtually all of its original factory finish.
