*COLT PROTOTYPE OR EXPERIMENTAL SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 32 Centerfire. Blue and case colored with 6” bbl, typical Colt front sight blade, New Frontier style frame and 1-pc grip frame with plastic 2-pc rampant Colt eagle grips. Bbl and frame are steel and the grip frame alloy with the typical impressed decoration on bottom of the butt. Has 6-shot fluted cylinder with an ejector rod in the usual place and a 2-screw frame as in the New Frontier Model. The only marking on the revolver is the serial number on the bottom forward part of the frame. Bbl, ejector rod assembly, cylinder, hammer and trigger are all high polished niter blue. SN GX9008. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains about 80% original blue with a cleaned area just in front of the frame. Ejector housing, cylinder, hammer and trigger retain about 95% niter blue with the grip frame retaining most of its black anodized finish. Frame retains most of its original bright case colors. Forward part of the frame has the usual cutouts for the spring loaded cross bolt but has been replaced with a screw, apparently to withstand the recoil. It does not appear to have been fired although it does show considerable scratches and lines on the cylinder from rotation. 4-48422 JR511 (800-1,200)
