STATE OF MAINE ONE DRAWER PAINTED WASH STAND SIGNED JOHN HILL. 19th C. At bottom of drawer is script pencil signature. The grain paint in black and red. Sheraton style with turned legs, rectangular top and shaped backsplash. John Hill is unlisted in the Maine State Museum’s Exhibition of Maine Painted Furniture. PROVENANCE: From a central Maine home. SIZE: 34” to top of splash back. Top size is 32” x 19”. CONDITION: Some wear to surface paint but generally very good. 9-26021 (500-1,000)
