EARLY 20TH CENTURY GERMAN CLOCKWORK ROUND-ABOUT TOY. A most intriguing wind up toy attributed to Gunthermann featuring five tin figures in chairs with a flagpole protruding from the center of base (lacking flag). Mechanism contained within weighted base and when activated the figures pump the bar in front of them simulating the movement required to make this toy revolve in a counter-clockwise motion. The figures and the toy structure itself are all hand painted. Circa 1910. Mechanism is in operational condition. SIZE: Approx 12″ width, 3-1/2″ height. CONDITION: Overall condition is good to very good, one seat presently detached but present, others show some minor resoldering/reattachment to main frame.
