DANIEL CHARLES GROSE (American, 1865-1890) MT. KATAHDIN. Fine oil on canvas landscape scene shows Mt. Katahdin at Baxter State Park, Maine. The double peak mountain is seen in background with a lake surrounded by trees in fall colors. Signed lower left “D C Grose” and dated “1877”. Housed in what appears to be its original gilt antique frame. SIZE: 9” x 13-1/4”. CONDITION: There are four small patches to reverse with some inpainting, light craquelure.
