SPECTACULAR VICTORIAN MEISSEN PORCELAIN ORNAMENTAL CLOCK AND STAND. This lavishly decorated two-piece suite features a Victorian porcelain mantel clock encrusted with ornamental flowers, putti and foliage. The clock is accompanied by a conforming, lavishly ornamented Meissen porcelain stand, featuring relief sprays of flowers. The undersides of both clock and stand are marked with the Meissen blue cross sword. The Maine family from which this descended once had an ancestor who was an ambassador to Russia from the United States during the late 19th C. According to the family, it was at this time that the clock was acquired. SIZE: Clock approx. 18″ t. Stand approx. 4 1/2″ t. Widest point of stand is approx. 16″.
