WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38 WCF (38-40). SN 53892. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4” oct bbl, full magazine, half nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. The wood is uncheckered, nicely figured, straight grain American walnut with straight stock and crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 95-96% strong bright original blue. Magazine tube and forend cap retain about 98% bright original blue. Receiver retains 95-96% strong bright original blue with light edge wear and a few light scratches on both sides of the receiver. Lever retains 60-70% bright case colors and the hammer 85-90%. Buttplate retains 50-60% faded case colors. Wood is sound with a streak in the finish of the butt stock, otherwise retains most of its original factory varnish with usual light handling & storage nicks & scratches and a few bruises on the comb.
