Oil on wood panel of an early folk art portrait shows a gentleman standing with one arm resting on an inlaid lap desk and holding hat. Other hand is at side. He wears a black coat, red vest and white shirt. Mottled brown background. Housed in a simpler molded wood gilt frame. PROVENANCE: Acquired from a Maryland Estate. SIZE: 15” x 10”. CONDITION: Needs cleaning. Age shrinkage lines missing paint. Slight warp to panel. 9-97454 (1,000-3,000)
