SMITH & WESSON #3 LARGE FRAME TARGET REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, short 1-line address, target front sight and adjustable rear sight and the caliber marked on the left side. Fitted with 2-pc monogrammed hard rubber grips and a Russian style finger rest on the trigger guard. Serial number is followed by a star indicating a factory refinish and the left side of the grip frame under the grip is stamped “5.45” and “5.44” apparently the dates it was refinished. There is also a small “B” inside a diamond. SN 34031. CONDITION: Excellent as refinished. All matching except the grips which are unnumbered. Retains virtually all its fine refinished blue. Hammer and trigger guard retain 50-60% faded case colors. Grips show moderate wear with both turning chocolate. Bore is bright and shiny with some scattered light pitting, fine mechanics. 4-48005 JR85 (Anderson Collection) (1,500-2,500)
