AMERICAN ENCAUSTIC TILES. Tile grouping features woman reclining on a patio with bird on her finger and another at her feet. Large side tiles depict classical man and woman. Man is playing lute and woman is dressed in classical long gown. Tiles are done in rich mauve/brown glaze. SIZE: Large side tiles are 18” x 6” each. Center tiles are 6” sq. and plain border tiles are 3” sq. CONDITION: Large tile of woman has chipping to top and bottom of glaze and crack in center. Two of the 6” pictorial tiles are cracked but fit together nicely, otherwise very good. 5-70683 (600-1,000)
