*WESTLEY RICHARDS .318 ACCELERATED EXPRESS BOLT ACTION RIFLE. SN LT41120. 26″ bbl has Westley Richards patent front sight with flip-over sighthood, and silver hinged bead night sight, sling eye, one standing and four folding express sight, graduated out to 500 yards, and is marked “WESTLEY RICHARDS CO. LONDON.” and also “NEWTONS LTD. NAIROBI, B.E. AFRICA”. The mauser action is marked “WESTLEY RICHARDS 318 ACCELERATED EXPRESS” and also “SN LT41120.” Top of receiver is stippled. Bolt handle knob has a cracked piece of celluloid in place of the orig horn. Hinged floorplate is hinged and has typical Westley Richards release lever. Dbl pull style trigger. The relatively plain European walnut stock measures 14-5/8″ over steel trap buttplate. The rear sling swivel eye is missing and there is a dented silver oval in botom of stock. Orig horn grip cap is present. Forend has a horn tip. CONDITION: Fair. Rifle retains 90% of a reblue. Lettering remains relatively sharp and most corners are preserved. The strong Metford rifled bore is dark. The stock shows patches of dark staining and has been lightly refinished. Checkering has been recut.
