SMITH & WESSON MODEL 320 REVOLVING RIFLE. Cal. 320. Blued finish, 16” keyhole ribbed bbl, Rocky Mountain style front sight and two-position V-notch rear sight. There are tiny British proofs on the cylinder and bbl and it is fitted with red and black mottled hard rubber forearm and monogrammed 2-pc grips. it is accompanied by a correct shoulder stock of nicely grained walnut and a monogrammed hard rubber buttplate. This is 1 of only 977 total production of which only 239 were made with 16” bbls and only 65 of the total production were sold in England. Inside the frame beneath the cylinder is stamped “P.R. & S/JOINT PATENTS/C11269”. SN 513. CONDITION: Good. Bbl retains traces of original blue in the gullets with the balance being a smooth brown patina with some scattered light rust. Frame and cylinder also are smooth patina with blue in the sheltered areas on the frame. Bore is bright and shiny with a few rust pits. Numbers are all matching except the grips and the butt stock which are not numbered. The forearm and grips are sound and show light to moderate wear with a bruise on the left grip. Action is crisp. Stock iron retains about 75% thin and flaking original blue. Wood is sound and retains 75-80% strong original varnish with patches of chemical or heat crazing.
